I’m Jessica Seid, an emergency veterinarian currently practicing in the New England area with over 15 years of experience in emergency and critical care medicine. My passion for animals began early in life, growing up in rural West Virginia surrounded by a variety of family pets and abundant wildlife. This upbringing sparked a lifelong interest in animal health and welfare.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Minot State University, which laid the academic foundation for my veterinary career. I then moved to North Carolina, where I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 2008. After graduation, I completed a small animal rotating internship at a specialty referral hospital outside of Chicago, Illinois.

Throughout my career, I have worked at several specialty and referral centers along the East Coast, focusing on high-acuity emergency cases. My clinical interests include trauma medicine and emergency surgery. In addition to practicing medicine, I discovered a passion for writing educational content for pet parents about 5 years ago. I take pride in making complex veterinary topics more accessible and empowering pet parents to better understand and care for their animal companions.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling abroad with my family, trying new restaurants, attending concerts, and listening to audiobooks.
