Hi there! My name is Sarah. I’m a veterinarian and a 2002 graduate from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. I have over 20 years of experience in general practice and specialize in providing veterinary care to cats and dogs. I am USDA certified for inspection and movement of animals, and I’m a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

I am most passionate about helping pet parents learn how to care better for their fur friends and have written thousands of web articles and filmed hundreds of pet care videos. In addition to being a certified veterinary journalist, I have appeared on radio, podcasts and multiple television news broadcasts across the country and been featured as a veterinary expert in several magazines. Topics I cover for pet parents include general medicine, preventive care, nutrition and behavior.

I also provide continuing education to veterinary professionals in lectures, articles, webinars and workshops. My topics include leadership, well-being and emotional intelligence. I am passionate about improving veterinary well-being, and in 2017 co-created Vets Against Insanity, a slightly scandalous card game for veterinary professionals. Since then, we have sold thousands of games to veterinary people all over the planet, helping us laugh together and connect over the funny side of veterinary medicine (cause when your job includes expressing anal glands, sometimes all you can do is laugh).

I live high in the mountains of Colorado with my husband and children. I enjoy spending my free time skiing, working with horses, playing Bethesda games and exploring the wilderness.
