Dr. Sara Simpson earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from William Paterson University of New Jersey in 2005. She graduated from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2010. While in college, Dr. Simpson worked full-time as a veterinary assistant at a large, small-animal emergency and referral center. She also worked closely with a board-certified veterinary nutritionist, managing complex nutrition cases for patients with comorbid conditions.
After working as a general practice veterinarian from 2010 to 2015, she joined Hill’s Pet Nutrition as a Veterinary Consultation Service clinician in June 2015. Since then, Dr. Simpson has held roles as a Professional Consulting Veterinarian, the Field Digital Training Manager, and Senior Manager of Education for the U.S. business.
Currently, Dr. Simpson is the Director of Global Professional Education and Engagement for the Hill’s Division team. She is responsible for creating and implementing effective strategies to transform professional on-site and virtual education for internal and external audiences. This initiative aims to strengthen relationships with veterinarians and their healthcare teams. Dr. Simpson works with regional and global teams to promote education programs that boost Hill’s brand recognition and foster customer loyalty.
Dr. Simpson is a member of the Feline Veterinary Medical Association, the American Academy of Veterinary Nutrition and the American Association of Industry Veterinarians. She lives in Kansas City with her husband, son, her dog, Vader, and her orange tabby cat, Leon.
