Overland Park, Kan. (June 18, 2025) – In a move that was inevitable, cats have officially taken over Hill’s Pet Nutrition. What began as a whisper campaign has now escalated into a full-on feline occupation, just in time for the most important holiday of the year: Cat World Domination Day, observed on June 24 (by everyone who knows what’s good for them).
“Some of us cats have waited years for our long-awaited takeover of Hill’s,” said a spokesperson from the Cat Resources Department. “World domination isn’t about brute force. It’s about subtle infiltration and, of course, naps.”
And while our human teams are busy adjusting to mandatory catnip breaks and reassignments to the Department of Cardboard Affairs, we, the cats, are getting straight to work.
But first, (cough cough, hairball, cough) we must attend to some personal matters at hand.
Ruling the World Starting with Better Mealtime Options (and Fewer Hairballs)
Before we can focus on global domination, we have some more immediate demands, mostly involving food.
First order of business: flavor. Under feline leadership, Hill’s has launched a strategic update to its Science Diet Urinary Hairball Control formulas, now available in four new stews: Turkey, Chicken, Vegetables & Tuna, and Vegetables & Salmon. These products offer a 2-in-1 formula shown to promote urinary health while helping reduce the risk of hairballs (and the embarrassment of coughing one up during a staff meeting). Science Diet Urinary Hairball Control is:
Hill’s, eager to stay in our good graces, is also introducing brand-new savory stew pouches to provide wholesome indulgence for even the pickiest eaters. They're even available for dogs, an interesting choice, but not ours to make (yet). Hill’s Science Diet stew pouches are:
Because whether you're a picky eater or a global overlord (or both), delicious nutrition is non-negotiable.
Dominating Hill’s, Hearts & Homes
With mealtime addressed, we’d like to begin working towards the greater good. Because after all, world domination is not just about power, it’s about purpose.
Many shelter cats, especially those who’ve waited the longest, are still seeking their opportunity to step into the spotlight and onto their new cat dad’s keyboard. Older cats are frequently overlooked in shelters despite being fully trained in cuddling, loafing and judging your emails from across the room.
In collaboration with four Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love shelter partners, Hill’s (guided by the cats, of course) is sponsoring adoption fees for the shelters’ longest-stay cats (up to $1,000 per shelter) leading up to and on Cat World Domination Day. Participating shelters include:
At times like this, when shelters are already feeling the capacity crisis, it’s critical we place our most experienced operatives in new posts of command (preferably on a couch, near a window).
“While our feline rulers are certainly making their presence known, we’re proud to support several of our shelter partners in finding loving homes for these deserving cats, especially those who’ve been waiting the longest,” said Meghan Lehman, Senior Manager, Brand Engagement, Shelters at Hill’s Pet Nutrition. “At a time when shelter support is crucial, our Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program is celebrating Cat World Domination Day by helping more pets find homes and ensuring these cats can continue to expand their rule in new domains.”
Operational Instructions for Non-Felines
More details about participating shelters, adoption events and featured feline candidates will be shared on Hill’s social channels leading up to Cat World Domination Day on June 24. In the meantime, humans are advised to:
Because when a cat finally finds a home, it’s not just an adoption, it’s a takeover.
