Rated 5 out of 5 by Changed my dog's life! My Golden Retriever, Riley, competes in the sport of Dockdogs and 2 years ago she started slowing down on the dock and showing signs of discomfort after jumping. She absolutely loves competing and lights up at the first sign of water so it broke my heart to see what keeps her spirits high cause her pain. She also stopped jumping up on the bed to sleep at night which also tugged at my heart strings so I had steps built so she could continue to sleep in her favorite spot. She had been on glucosamine supplements for several years and I wasn't ready to take the step to other long-term medications so her vet and I decided to try J/D. WOW! Before I even had the chance to start training her to use the new steps she was back to jumping back on the bed and she started hitting new personal bests while competing! After 2 years the steps are still stored in the basement yet to be used and this year at 10 years old my girl placed 1st at Regional Championships and 4th in the WORLD at the Dockdog World Championships in her division! J/D has changed her life and given us many more years of happiness on the dock! December 29, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is loved by the Chocolate Furry son . This product was recommended by the veterinarian. He said it is great for labs and has vitamins that they need. It is very expensive. Would be great if the price was cheaper or got a larger bag for same amount of money ! September 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great food I am the owner of 2 boxers. We have been giving our 11 year old boxer j/d for the past 5 years. It has done wonders for her weight control as well as her mobility. We recently put our 3 year old boxer on it as well and she loves it also. I have nothing but good things to say about this food. April 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by J/D has changed the life of our hunting dog Wallace. Wallace had a chronic weight bearing lameness of the left front leg that our surgeon had a difficult time diagnosing since he did so well on the J/D food. Once we convinced him of his lameness and he opted to perform arthroscopy, he could not believe the level of degeneration to his bicep tendon. Most dogs with this level of degeneration would be non weight bearing and the only "pain medication" he was on was the J/D. Wallace being 10 years old now has developed significant arthritis of both of his front paws. He does occasionally need Rimadyl after a long hunt but I believe he would need that medication daily if it wasn't for the J/D. January 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeping my active dog's joints healthy after 2 knee surgeries! No one expects their happy, bouncy Lab puppy to have to undergo 2 orthopedic surgeries before they turn 18 months old-but that is exactly what happened to my pup, Alvy, when she ruptured both of her ACL's. A once vibrant, bouncing puppy turned in to a little old lady dog-it was painful to watch as it was painful for her! At the recommendation of our orthopedic surgeon, Alvy started Prescription Diet j/d-and the healing process began. Of course she was on pain relief medications before and immediately post operative, but it was obvious she needed much lower doses and required them for shorter periods than dogs undergoing those same surgeries who weren't being fed the j/d diet. j/d is a perfect solution for busy families who don't have time to measure out separate supplements and food additives, and who realize the benefits of "medicating with diet." Alvy will be staying on j/d to help keep her lean and fit, to help protect not only those (expensive!) surgically repaired knees but as preventive care for all of her other joints, too. Thank you, Hill's, for helping to return Alvy to her happy, bouncy self! July 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Changed My Dog's Life I have a 6-7 year old mixed breed dog named ShortStack. Ever since I adopted her when she was only about 2 years old she seemed like an old yellow hound dog that should be sleeping on a porch in the hot summer sun. She just wasn't built right. She loved to sleep on the couch but always had a lot of difficulty getting up and off the couch or even just up off the floor. She seemed like an old arthritic dog even though she was so young. I started her on j/d about 4 years ago. After a couple of months I noticed a dramatic difference. She can now keep up with her younger sister while chasing squirrels. She has no trouble getting up and down and she holds the record for number of helicopter spins while waiting for breakfast and dinner! The j/d diet definitely changed her life! April 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My 12 year old "puppy" I have a 12 year old golden retriever, Hailey Bugs, that had ACL surgery 3 years ago. Within one year of surgery, her knee was three times it's normal size and she was unable to lie down flat on her right side, the side of her injured knee. I hadn't realized how much she had slowed down over the months following her recovery and how "un-golden-like' she had become. Her quality of life was not nearly as good as it should have been. Finally, one day when I asked her to get up and she growled at me and refused to move, I realized just how bad she felt. We went to see her doctor. Hailey began a whole new regimen of physical therapy, some laser therapy, an anti-inflammatory and walking. She did improve and became much more like her old self. A few months later I was talking to a coworker who had her dog on j/d and decided to put Hailey on it as well. What a difference a diet can make! Before too long she was a puppy again! I knew she had felt bad, but I didn't realize just how bad until I saw how much better she was. She counter surfed a birthday cake off of the kitchen counter!!! Impressive for an old dog with arthritis #and a sweet tooth#! She also lies flat on both sides now, not just her "good" side. Now I know it was not just the j/d that helped her, but I also know it was a BIG part of getting my puppy back. As a matter of fact, all three of my dogs, another golden and a lab, all eat j/d now. I have always recommended Hills products to everyone, and I recommend j/d all of the time! Thanks Hills! Kris Kellis, RVT February 6, 2014
