Rated 5 out of 5 by He loves it! I rescued a "Bassador" (Basset/Lab mix) in August. He was constantly scratching and chewing his paws. My husband thought it was fleas, but as neither our other dog or my granddaughter's dog was displaying any symptoms, I figured it was an allergy of some sort. We went to the vet and he suggested we try a single protein/ carb food. He suggested we introduce him to a new protein, so we started the Hill's Rx diet d/d salmon and potato. I was kind of wary because of the price- what if he doesn't like it? I have never ascribed to the practice of "give it to him anyway. When he gets hungry enough, he'll eat it" But I needn't have worried. He loves it. In fact, my other dog, who has no issues and has never been fond of dry food, likes it as well. I've solved that dilemma by having my vet order a bigger bag. Both of them have benefitted from it. Their coats are both very good. And while it hasn't solved all of Toby's problem( we have since found he is allergic to mold and dust as well), he is suffering much less. And he no longer chews his paws. January 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vet Professional Approved As a veterinary professional, I understand how crucial it is to feed your pet the appropriate diet. Seeing clients day in and day out who insist on feeding "organic, grain-free, raw, etc" diets drives me crazy because I see the damage it does to their beloved pets. This food is great for food allergy dogs (and no it is not the same as over the counter fish diets because the machines are cleaned and sanitized for hours before production begins ensuring no cross contamination). My spaniel has had no ear infections since beginning this strict prescription diet. I absolutely love, trust, and stand by Hill's 110% because their foods are developed by nutritionists with the appropriate credentials. September 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by stopped my dog's itching Your product stopped my dog's itching which was driving her crazy. I am glad such a product is on the market. It does have a high price tag but is worth it if it helps my dog. December 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by d/d has greatly improved my dog's skin condition Pet owner's may not realize this but skin conditions in dogs are often managed, not completely cured. That being said, d/d Potatoe and Salmon has been one of the greatest assets in managing my dog's itchy skin. I also find that I no longer need to have her on certain supplements because they are already in the food, which helps my dog's skin as well as saves me money. I have never had an issue with her not loving the taste. All in all it's a win win situation for both me and my dog. July 6, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yeast Infection We have an 11 year old dachshund. He has been suffering with a horrible yeast infection. We took him to our regular vet who put him on antibiotics for 2 weeks. It didn't seem to make it any better and they did not offer any other solutions. We struggled for almost 3 months trying everything. Nothing worked. We decided to take him to a different vet. He did a very thorough examination and took some skin samples. He had the "elephant" looking back legs and he licked until spots were raw. The new vet said we were going to attack the problem verociously. He put my dog on 2 antibiotics and a low dosage of Prednisone. Also changed his diet to Hill's Prescription D/D canned food. We have been on this new regimen for 3 weeks now. What an amazing difference! Also found out he had a staff infection which we didn't know about. Our dog is also eating the dry food and we got the treats for him which he loves. The yeast infection is almost gone #no smelly dog anymore# and his coat is shiny and pretty again. I would recommend if your pet is having skin issues please check with your vet. We and our dog are much happier! August 8, 2013
