Oral Health

Dental care for your pet may be more important than you think. The accumulation of bacteria laden plaque above the gumline can lead to long term oral health issues. Recent studies have demonstrated there is an association between oral health issues and systemic more general health issues altering the kidney, heart and metabolic systems.

At Hill's, nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to keep your cat's teeth clean and help control the oral bacteria found in plaque.

Daily Feeding Guide:

Important Feeding Information

  • These amounts are a starting point only. Your cat may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian.
  • With your veterinarian's approval, mix increasing amounts of your cat's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period. Prescription Diet® formulas are available in a wide variety of dry foods and treats for your cat's unique needs, and canned foods with delicious flavors your cat will love.
  • For maximum benefit, this product must be fed as the only food. Supplementation is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food.
  • Keep fresh water available at all times!
  • For best results, have your veterinarian monitor your cat's condition.
  • To prevent suffocation, keep this plastic bag out of the reach of pets and children.

Super product to help with dental care. Ever since I learned of this product, I have fed it to both my dog and all my cats. Not once has any of my pets who are fed this ever needed any kind of dental care or teeth cleaning. This product takes care of their gums and teeth, and I never have to worry about brushing or putting them under to have their teeth cleaned. All of my pets have loved eating it, too! This is the best product that they make as far as I am concerned! August 15, 2013
Our cats love it. Both of our adopted cats had gum issues when we brought them to be checked out. Like anything that is good for you, I feared my cats would be uninterested in their prescription dry food. Conversely, they love it and prefer it to their old, premium dry food. My younger cat went from a condition in which she might need about six teeth removed to only two, due to her improved gum health over several months of eating t/d. The older cat needed one out rather than two. Worth every penny! August 5, 2013
Wonderful Cat Food If one wants a good, solid, nutritionally balanced cat food that will keep your cat's teeth clean and gums healthy, and your cats will eat with enthusiasm, Prescription Diet Feline t/d is just the thing. In 17 years of having 4 Abyssinians, a breed that has a tendancy towards plaque/tartar build-up and without regular professional cleanings can experience gingivitis and tooth loss, just 3 dentals have been necessary to date. I am not very diligent about brushing my Abys' teeth so I attribute the lack of dentals to t/d. I recommend it wholeheartedly and without reservation. August 3, 2013
Our cat likes chicken flavor, large kennel food. Our cat has trouble with tarter so our vet recommend prescription dental health. She eats the product well along with her wet food. July 24, 2014
Cats love it I have fed this food for a number of years already and all 3 of my cats really love this food. I am glad they like something that is healthy for them to eat too. One cat has had several issues and has had many teeth pulled, I adopted him at an unknown age and I think he would be in a lot worse shape if he hadn't been eating the TD. My other 2 cats have not had any dental issues since eating this. Don't change your formula. Thanks July 22, 2014
Great for my cats teeth My cat, Lucy has trouble with gingivitis. I discovered that she wasn't chewing the small disk type dry food. My vet suggested I feed her the t/d Dental dry food so that she would be forced to chew it. She has no choice but to chew it due to the size of each piece. It is helping to keep her teeth clean. She also loves the taste. I highly recommend this dry food. July 22, 2014
Recommend for feline dental care I use the feline dental food as a supplement for my instead of any other treats. She get a small can of wet food for the protein and the rest is the dry dental food, alloted to her throughout the day as a treat and a snack.. She really likes it and her teeth are staying clean. I do brush the front teeth every day, but cannot do the back and depend on the dry food to keep them clean, July 19, 2014
good dental health My 13 year old cat has no tartar build up to speak of due to td. July 15, 2014
