Important Feeding Information

  • These amounts are a starting point only. Your dog may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian.
  • With your veterinarian's approval, mix increasing amounts of your dog's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period.
  • Prescription Diet® formulas are available in a wide variety of dry foods and treats for your dog's unique needs and canned foods with delicious flavors your dog will love. Supplementation with other foods or treats is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food. When using with canned food and treats, decrease the amount of dry food to avoid overfeeding.

  • For best results, have your veterinarian monitor your dog's condition.
  • To prevent suffocation, keep this plastic bag out of the reach of pets and children.

Great food for my dogs health My Weimaraner has issues with her stomach. This is the only food I have found that helps her to be healthy and not have diarrhea. It costs a little more but it is worth it. Thank you. September 18, 2013
WD Prescription food is great I have a diabetic dog and for 4 days I had to use something from a pet store that they said was ok for diabetic dogs. Well let me tell you it was not, his blood sugar was normal and then 4 days later it went up above 500. It took several months to get it back down to normal and as long as I leave him on Hill's Science diet WD prescription dog food, his blood sugar stays perfect. Please tell all the vets who sale this to recommend this to their customers with diabetic dogs, I realize it is very expensive, but well worth it. I wish it was a bit less expensive, but the difference it has made for our Bammer and that we still have him is worth the special dog food, special treats and the insulin he must have each day to keep him here with us. He is worth the price and love that big dog to pieces. I highly recommend this dog food! July 8, 2013
This product is beneficial to your pet ! Since putting my miniature schnauzer on this type of food, she has regained her puppy stature. She has more energy, more playful and is one happy dog. The vet said might have trouble transitioning because of taste. Let me tell you !!!! She inhaled it. She loved it better than anything we ever gave her. Very pleased with this food. I may pay a little more, but I know I am feeding my dog food that is good for her in many ways. Thanks Hills ! you gave me my happy, vibrant and energetic doggie back ! June 30, 2013
This product works great with my dog. Excellent prescription food to treat my Golden's specific needs. A good quality product. Price is on the high end, but the benefits are worth the money. September 10, 2014
How Dry W/D Helped in So Many Ways We have a geriatric dog who had no issues with a very well-known dry dog food that he had been eating his entire life (in one formulation or another over the years). Additionally, the various meds he had been on for well over 5 years didn't seem to have any negative reaction with the digestibility of that food. About nine months ago, our dog all of a sudden developed extremely loose and frequent stools as well as began to loose weight... All this occurred with no change in food or medications. He also started to not be as interested in eating. Since changing his medication was not an option and the tests that were done showed no other issues, our vet suggested we start him on W/D dry. We started him out on a food transitional plan. Once we realized that it was working to help him, we then worked with the vet to increased the volume of his feed in order to help him gain back some weight and maintain that level. Today, our dog's weight is ideal. We are very pleased with the quality of W/D. We labeled our review as being 'Excellent' as it relates to 'Value for the money'. This product is definitely more expensive than a lot of dry dog foods, but since it works we consider it an excellent value. September 7, 2014
My diabetic dog has good results with this food. I have 2 dogs using W/D dry food & also my diabetic Shih-Tzu uses dry mixed with W/D wet canned food. She is having good results on her blood tests after using W/D. My other dog (J.Russell mix) is using it for weight management. Can't say he's losing weight.....but at least he's not gaining it, either! It's a little pricey to feed to 2 dogs but I do think it's good for them.....so I buy it! September 6, 2014
My dog loves this! My Australian shepherd has been on this prescription diet since 2012 and has lost weight. This Hill's® Prescription Diet® w/d® Canine Low Fat-Glucose Management-Gastrointestinal product is very gentle for my dog's stomach and she eats every single morsel! September 4, 2014
The product works as expected, good value. This product has kept our dog healthy without constant trips to the Vet! Our puppy has a sensitive bladder and it easily gets infected. Using this product has kept her healthy for well over a year now. Also, it's priced for value. Rod September 3, 2014
