The liver has an amazing ability to repair and regenerate itself, and nutrition plays a vital role in this process.
At Hill's, nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to help support your dog's liver function during its healing process.

Daily Feeding Guide:

Important Feeding Information

  • Cover and refrigerate unused portion.
  • These amounts are a starting point only. Your dog may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, or if you are feeding Prescription Diet® l/d® Canine Hepatic Health to a puppy, ask your veterinarian.
  • With your veterinarian's approval, mix increasing amounts of your dog's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period.
  • Prescription Diet formulas are available in a wide variety of dry foods and treats for your dog's unique needs, and canned foods with delicious flavors your dog will love. Supplementation with other foods or treats is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food. When using with dry food and treats, decrease the amount of canned food to avoid overfeeding.

ld has helped my senior dog a great deal My Schnauzer has been on id since he was 1 year old. Recently he had liver disfunction and bladder stones. Dr. Coyne put him on Hepatic and he is doing great. Shadow Grey Ghost is 13 1/2 years old and going strong thanks to Prescription Diet. July 4, 2013
see below The other day I clicked on the coupon on your website and was told that I had already received the coupons numerous times. That is false. I only recall that I received the coupons on the website two times (couple of times). If you don't want the people to click on these coupons, don't put them on your website. You are just agravating the customers. My dog had three surgeries and had been on a lot of rxs and might have interacted with other dog food at the time. The vet put her on RX diet ID - so for past 8 or 9 months, one of my dogs has been on this precription ID. I have spent hundreds of dollars on this RX food at the vet. I don't think customers are out of line when we try to save a few bucks with coupons. I am going to try to wean her off this expensive dog food and will no longer click on your coupons. The best on the market My 9 year old Maltese was dying. The vet did a lot of blood work and discovered he had too much protein in his urine. Our little fellow was drawn up, listless and looked so sad. This all happened within a few days to less than a week. He was going downhill fast. Our vet said we needed to get him on a prescription diet at once. Within a few days our little guy was running and playing like a young puppy. Thank you so much Hills Prescription for saving our precious little guy. Larry and Connie September 13, 2014
My dog loves this food! After dealing with what we thought were food intolerances in my dog, we eventually received a diagnosed of a liver shunt. My vet prescribed LD wet and dry food and what an amazing change it has been. My dogs now eats without vomiting, she is gaining weight and she is healthier than she has been in months! It worked, thank You My 3 yr old walked into my life about a year ago and he was the prefect fit to me and my Pomo, we had done his yearly vet exam and his liver # was 175. my Vet said critical and we need to do something since his # went from 105 to 175 in a year. She said 20-100 is what it should be. At first, we thought surgery then my wonderful vet decided to treat with diet and we used this product. in 7 weeks my babies # is 81 which falls into normal . THANK YOU for this product.. Everyone, if your dog has a liver issue, try this product. I cant' tell you what a blessing it was due to this food.. August 20, 2013
This product probably saved our puppy We have a tiny Yorkshire Terrier puppy who was given to us in poor shape at about 4months old, and he'd barely gained any weight since the original owner had acquired him at 9weeks. The pup had hypoglycemia issues and probable liver shunt and was not eating well, even using Nutrical supplement. After being put on l/d canned food by the vet, in 3 weeks his weight increased from 2.0 to 3.1 pounds! He is full of energy and looks terrific, no longer the fragile-appearing little boy he was. Thanks for making such a terrific product! The l/d will continue to be his only diet, probably for his lifetime, if it is verified that he has a liver shunt. January 7, 2014
Hills Prescription Diet l/d Gave My Yorkie Her Life Back My Yorkie was noticeably sick two years ago and my vet prescribed Hills Prescription l/d Hepatic Canned Food for her regular diet. Since being on this product she has gained her weight back, she is healthy, active and happy. Before changing her diet she was lethargic, was losing weight and looked very sad. Today she has as much energy as when she was 2 years old and she will be 10 years old soon. Thank you for your excellent product!!! Bill and Vickie, Lansing, MI June 9, 2014
has helped our dog immensely Since our dog has been on this food she has been so much healthier. She needed to have a low protein diet and this food is perfect. She also eats the dry version of this food as instructed by our Vet. She eats the food right down and it has really helped her condition. She can be picky at times but will eventually decide to eat. The price is high, but what choice do we have? She is a member of our family and we will do whatever we have to do for her. October 5, 2014
