Hill's® Prescription Diet®
i/d® Canine Gastrointestinal Health

Digestive Health Support

Dietary indiscretion, food allergies, or lack of digestive enzymes can affect your dog's digestive health. Efficient digestion is essential for your dog to be able to build and repair tissues and obtain energy, and for these reasons it is important to feed a food that is formulated to help support digestive health.

At Hill's, nutritionists and veterinarians have developed clinical nutrition especially formulated to help manage dogs with digestive health problems. Due to its easily digestible ingredients, Prescription Diet® i/d® may also be helpful for pets recovering from gastrointestinal upset and routine surgery.

Feeding Guide

Daily Feeding Guide:

Important Feeding Information

  • These amounts are a starting point only. Your dog may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, or if you are feeding Prescription Diet® i/d® Canine Gastrointestinal Health to a puppy, ask your veterinarian.
  • With your veterinarian's approval, mix increasing amounts of your dog's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period.
  • Prescription Diet formulas are available in a wide variety of dry foods and treats for your dog's unique needs, and canned foods with delicious flavors your dog will love. Supplementation with other foods or treats is unnecessary and may decrease the effectiveness of the food. When using with canned food and treats, decrease the amount of dry food to avoid overfeeding.
  • Split the recommended daily amount into smaller portions and feed throughout the day.
  • Keep fresh water available at all times!
  • For best results, have your veterinarian monitor your dog's condition.
  • To prevent suffocation, keep this plastic bag out of the reach of pets and children.

Saved My Dog I am so grateful and thankful for this pet food. It is all my dog can eat. He gets *so* sick if he eats anything else. This is *the only* food we can find that will work for him. I feel like it saved his life!! And he *loves* it! He acts like it is a treat!!!! February 7, 2013
At last a "Diet That Really Works"...Prescription Gastro-Health Our dog Maggie, a mixed breed terrier had a sensitive stomach. I was amazed how quickly her condition was resolved! She loves the taste and her energy level was markedly improved. Her breath improved too ! I highly recommend Science Diet and thank them for developing a diet that really works.. February 2, 2013
Great food! My dauchshund has had stomach issues for many years, after he was cured the first time, very expensive stays at the vet, I ended up putting him back on regular food... my mistake. After a while he began having similar issues, I immediately put him back on this food mostly dry, but some wet as well, and he was fixed and good as new. It is a little expensive, but worth every penny to keep my little AJ in tip top shape and keep his belly feeling good. He loves the taste of it anyway, so he really thinks he's just getting extra spoiled! January 16, 2013
