Feeding Guide

Daily Feeding Guide:

Helpful Tips

  • For puppies/pregnant dogs: begin by feeding the suggested daily amount. Your pet may need less or more food to maintain proper weight. Adjust as needed. If you are unsure, ask your veterinarian.
  • For nursing dogs: keep food available at all times.
  • Feeding this food for the first time? Mix increasing amounts of your pet's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period.
  • For maximum benefit, this product must be fed as the only food. Use of supplements or mixing with any other food is not recommended.
  • Keep fresh water available at all times!
  • We recommend that you take your pet to the veterinarian at least twice a year for regular health check-ups.
  • Your pet's nutritional needs change with each lifestage. Continue to give him the same precise and balanced nutrition by transitioning your puppy to Hill's® Science Diet® Healthy Advantage™ Adult dog food once he reaches 1 year of age.
  • Science Diet is available in a wide variety of dry foods for your puppy's unique needs. Canned puppy food is also available from Science Diet in a delicious savory chicken flavor that your puppy will love.
  • To prevent suffocation, keep this plastic bag out of the reach of pets and children.

Hill's products rank #1 new addition - mini poodle puppy picky eater, but goes for Hill's Vet exclusive. long time Hill's product user going back to the 1970's. my older dogs are still active & thriving. March 8, 2013
I really like that it is good for teeth, coat, and joints all in one product The first thing out of every one's mouth is "He is so shinny." This is a good product. Well worth the money plus you guys always have a coupon available which makes it even better. February 26, 2013
Great for my Labradoodle! I have a 7 month old labradoodle named Willy Joe who is very active and "bouncy"! We had been feeding him another brand, which shall remain nameless, and it didn't seem to ever fill Willy up. He acted like he was constantly hungry! Once we put him on Healthy Advantage by Science diet that put an end to that...he no longer acts like he is starving all of the time! I would highly recommend it! August 25, 2012
Happy Puppy Pete had trouble with several different foods, but since trying Science Diet per vet recommendation he has been much more regular. Every time we go to the dog park everyone comments on how beautiful his coat is which we then thank Science Diet for. July 21, 2012
great My husband will absolutely not buy ANYTHING else for his 2 pit bulls. It helps their skin irritations and makes their coats so silky and shiny. The only con I have to say is its very expensive and we spend at least 100$/month on dog food from science diet. I wish they had some kind of rewards program. But great quality food. July 17, 2012
Pippa Loves it I am feeding Science Diet Ideal Balance Puppy to my new puppy. She loves it! I am happy with the quality of this food and my vet is happy with it too. Thank you Science Diet June 26, 2012
Poor Puppy to Happy Puppy! When we got our puppy Bentley we were super excited to get him home, just like everyone else and could not wait for the raising of our cute puppy to being! We knew that raising our blonde lab would not be easy, but we never knew what we were about to run in too. After a week or so Bentley started scratching like crazy, even pulling his fair out and giving himself scabs. After taking Bentley to our vet him determined that it was something he had gotten from his mother. He gave us some meds but they did not seem to help. We had to take Bentley in for several painful dips, with them keeping him overnight. It was super sad. After the dips, on the way to recovery our vet recommend Science Diet, not only for Bentley but for our other dogs too! It helped Bentley get his needed nutrition that our vet said the breeders food did not have! Even though Science Diet food is a little more expensive than the old dog food we use to give our other dogs, we have switched our whole household over to it! June 25, 2012
Great small bites Science Diet never fails when it comes to feeding my dogs. I love the fact that they also support animal shelters and I think they sponsor them with year-round dog and cat food. When I adopted my dog they sent me home with a small bag of food. June 7, 2012
