Changed diet for rescued breeding dogs We rescued 7 year old Silky Terriers almost 5 years ago. Our now 12 year old girls are doing quite well, considering they were bred to death and fed a diet of cheap dog food, rice and cheetos. Needless to say, over the past 5 years it has been a struggle to get them on better quality food. I blend Science Diet wet with steamed white rice and water and then add dry food to the mix. Then I heat it in the microwave. It has taken several tries at finding wet food they will accept without hesitation. Science Diet is a winner!! May 16, 2012
