Rated 5 out of 5 by If All Else Fails I have 2 rescued cats in the house. One is less than 2 and loves every single flavor from Science Diet. The other over 10 and can be very picky. Both however will run over anyone that gets in their way when I fix Trout for dinner. My older cat was refusing to eat (out of spite) but one sniff of the trout and the bowl was empty. I only wish this flavor was offered in the larger size. December 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by nice variety My cat is very fussy. She ate this (grain free trout entree) about as well as she eats other fish products. I like the variety available and feel good that this is a nutritional food for my cat. April 30, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Product didn't look appetizing. My cat smelled it and walked away. Left it in his bowl, but he wouldn't eat it. May 6, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Trying Grain-Free Trout My cat enjoys fish of nearly all kinds. I feed her tuna, salmon, whitefish, and mixtures of "ocean fish". As a fresh-water fish, trout is a rare treat for her and less common on the market than other fish foods. I was eager to try Science Diet's new grain-free wet trout cat food. I participate in the "Pet Parent" program and received a free 2.9 oz can of the product in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately, I have had mixed results at best with grain-free wet cat foods even though my cat eagerly eats Science Diet and Ideal Balance dry grain free foods. I thought the case might be different with trout. It is a food she usually eats eagerly when she gets it as a treat. She looked at the food, took a few nibbles, and walked off. She has nibbled a bit since, but this food is obviously not going to be a favorite with her. Science Diet's grain free trout is undoubtedly a high quality, nutritious product of its type. As a consumer, my view is that the value of grain-free is overrated. Food must be enjoyable to and not forced upon the kitty. A well-made, nutritious food with grain that the cat enjoys is preferable to a grain-free food that she won't eat. It is also more economical. I was pleased to have the opportunity to sample this product and write about its results. This is not the food for my cat, but it may work for the cats of others. I will feed kitty fish and trout, but not grain-free. May 1, 2014
