Suzan Harrison has been named President of Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. North America, which includes the market leading Hill’s® Prescription Diet® and Hill’s® Science Diet® brand pet foods. She succeeds Neil Thompson, who was promoted to President and CEO of Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. in April.

Colgate-Palmolive Company recently announced the retirement of Robert C. Wheeler as chief executive officer of Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc. effective April 1, 2009. He is succeeded by Neil Thompson, formerly president, Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc. Americas.

In 1928, Dr. Mark L. Morris Sr. established Raritan Hospital for Animals in Edison, New Jersey. At the time, this was one of only two small animal hospitals in the United States. Dr. Morris believed managing nutrition could have a positive effect on the health of companion animals. He developed the first Prescription Diet® pet food in an attempt to help one of America's first guide dogs who was suffering from kidney disease.
