Harmful foods

When it comes to dogs, not all foods are created equal. Some foods, in fact, can be quite harmful. While it is always best to only feed puppy foods specifically formulated to meet your puppy's specific nutritional needs, if you choose to occasionally offer your pet a taste of what you're eating, it is important to avoid the following foods:

Chocolate: Harmful to all dogs — even in small quantities

Onions (and onion family): Can cause anemia

Dairy products (including cheese): Can cause diarrhea

Bones from meat, poultry and fish: May splinter and stick in the throat, cut the intestine or break teeth

Grapes and raisins: Have been associated with kidney failure

Fats from meats: Can cause severe intestinal upset

Macadamia nuts: Can cause incoordination, weakness and vomiting

Nutrition as unique as your cat.
